SUMMER 2023 Update!

Hello everyone!

I hope this update finds you all well and surviving the summer heat! I know many of you have experienced extremely high temperatures in the past few weeks. We have also been in the middle of a heatwave. Most days have been in the high 90s, which looks to continue with a few days reaching over 100. Amid this, the city has slowed significantly, with most people just waiting out the heat and avoiding unnecessary trips outside. Of course, M is feeling this heat even more as we are only six weeks away from Baby Boy’s due date! Keep her in your prayers as she tries to stay hydrated while we make the final preparations for baby!

Please continue to pray for a couple of Iranian guys with whom my teammate and I have had the chance to build a relationship and study scripture together. We ask for wisdom to understand how to serve them best as one looks to understand better the way of Jesus and the other struggles to believe there could be a God.

We also want to ask for prayers for an Iranian woman we have known for some time. We can call her Tina. When we met her, she was a dedicated Muslim, fasting and praying often. However, in a recent conversation, she expressed the depth of her despair over continually hopeless circumstances. She said she no longer has any faith that God will help her. We want to pray that she will encounter hope in Jesus. We pray for wisdom in further conversations and opportunities to share about Jesus’s love and care for her.

We pray that each of you enjoys the summer (despite the heat) and that your faith will grow as God continues to work in, through, and around you. We look forward to sharing good news of a new family member soon!
